To help us continue to deliver world-class solutions and take the WebTrends brand to the next level, WebTrends is seeking a Vice President of Marketing to lead and build the Corporate Marketing, Product Marketing and Product Management teams. Reporting to the CEO, the ideal candidate will manage all elements of the WebTrends brand including go to market strategies and execution, marketing communications, global events planning, and Public Relations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Be a digital marketing thought leader. Imbue the organization with thought leadership in the digital marketing space from products that support that market to being a best-of-breed example.
- Lead the Marketing organization in the strategic go to market planning and promotion of our products and services and convey the benefits and value proposition through multiplatform promotional tactics to include: promotions, collateral, sales presentations, product brochures, webinars, press releases and other marketing communications programs on a national and international level.
- Drive the product businesses including features, pricing, marketing materials, etc.
- Create and ensure best practice management of our world-class global brand. Analyze current WebTrends products and how they work together to formulate a cohesive go to market plan for the WebTrends brand globally.
- Team cross departmentally with Sales, Services, and Engineering to identify and articulate competitive differentiators, value proposition and product positioning opportunities.
- Deliver market analysis and competitor intelligence data and tools to support the marketing and business planning process and day to day needs.
- Ensure most effective alignment of resources with the overall marketing strategy with strategic hiring and strong project management, financial and operational skills.
Required Skills/Education
- 10 to 15+ years of experience including Digital Marketing, Enterprise Software, PR and VP level experience. Channel Marketing and consulting experience not required but helpful.
- Proven track record developing strategy and implementing marketing programs across a variety of marketing channels.
- Strategic thinker.
- Preference for candidates with the ability to quickly frame issues in compelling terms that others understand — e.g. a person with McKinsey experience
- Strong strategic marketing and analytics background: ability to translate market and customer insights into brand strategy.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written: effective spokesperson within industry (press, conferences, client events) and internally across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to make and communicate decisions quickly, deal with ambiguity and continuously adjust to market/situation changes.
- Ability to develop strong business relationships within all levels of an organization: strong team player with proven ability to lead and participate in teams.
- Proven people management skills with the ability to hire great team members and manage directly and cross-functionally.
- Prior responsibility for international operations required.
- Undergraduate degree is required; MBA is preferred.
Scope
This position reports to the CEO and is responsible for managing the entire marketing team.
Interaction
This position will be high profile both internally and externally and will have extensive interactions with Product Development, Sales, Executive Staff, customers, prospects, and partners. As a result, the incumbent must be able to build and maintain strong and effective working relationships.
Working Conditions
Travel requirements will vary but may be as much as 40% depending on location.
